Tips for the kitchen
Below is a list of tips that I have found in various places that should make your life in the kitchen a lot more efficient in both cost and energy. Feel free to leave any others in the comment section. To determine whether an egg is fresh, immerse it in a pan of cool, salted water. If it sinks, it is fresh~if it rises to the surface, throw it away. Keep the linings from cereal boxes~they make great substitutes for waxed paper! To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes! Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake ...
Buying A Private Island
OK..OK. I know that this probably isn't the best climate to be posting information on how to buy your own island, but hey, the glass is half full, let's be prepared for when business improves. 1. Set your price. It’s stating the obvious to say that the bigger your budget, the better an island you can afford, but some people have very unrealistic expectations of what they can afford. It’s better to spend as much possible to buy the island, even to the extent of waiting until you have funds for development. Saving money in the short term will generally get you ...
Worlds most expensive car
The Bugatti Veyron just lost its last claim to fame. Having already been dethroned as the fastest car on the planet, the $1.4 million Veyron and its more expensive roadster sibling are no longer the world's most expensive rides. That title now rests with the One-77, the $2.3 million hand-made coupe Aston Martin will sell next year. No more than 77 will be built, a figure that makes Bugatti's run of 300 Veyrons look mass-market and just beats the 80 Veyron roadsters in exclusivity. A British bookie already is laying odds on who'll get the first one. Paying $2.3 million for anything that doesn't have wings is ...
Cheap Cruises 2009
On the surface, it would seem as though cruise travelers have smooth sailing ahead. There are more ships than ever - including the next new biggest on the planet - carrying more passengers to more regions of the world and, with the exception of a pesky stretch of Somali coastline, travel by sea is probably safer than it has ever been and definitely safer than in most popular cities. Will 2009 be cruising's biggest year ever? Um, not so much. With the economy doing an epic crash-and-burn the likes of which hasn't been seen since the Queen Elizabeth went down in Hong Kong ...
9 Mortgage Don’ts
According to a recent housing survey, nearly 73 million Americans are homeowners. Most Americans own homes with a mortgage, with only 60% owing less than $100,000 on their homes. But no matter how much you owe, unless you're a lottery winner, you've probably used a mortgage to buy your home. Here are some tips on what not to do when making one of the biggest purchases of your life. 1. Don't find your dream home before you find your money It's easy to lose sight of your priorities when buying a home. Most people make the mistake of thinking that they should ...
